The column is calculated automatically once Collaborative Forecasts is on. The configuration work is enabling it per Forecast Type and giving managers context for what it means.
- Open Forecasts Settings
Setup, search for Forecasts Settings. Confirm Collaborative Forecasts is enabled and pick the Forecast Type whose columns to edit.
- Enable the column display
In Adjustments and Forecast Columns, check Display Amount Without Manager Adjustment. Save the Forecast Type configuration.
- Validate column visibility in the Forecasts tab
Open the Forecasts tab as a forecast manager. The column should appear in the column picker. Add it to the visible set if it is not on by default.
- Add the field to reports and dashboards
Use the Forecasting Items report type. Pull Amount, Amount Without Manager Adjustment, and Amount Without Adjustments side by side to expose the chain of adjustments per forecaster.
- Brief managers and sales ops
Walk managers and sales ops through the calculation order: roll-up, plus owner adjustment, equals Amount Without Manager Adjustment; plus manager adjustments equals Amount. Without that briefing the column tends to confuse rather than help.
- If reps never adjust their own forecast, the column always equals Amount Without Adjustments and conveys no extra information.
- The column is read-only. Editing forecasts is done via the Amount column, which then changes the variants.
- Enabling the column per Forecast Type is required for every type used. Toggling on Opportunity Revenue does not automatically enable it on Product Family.
- Forecast accuracy retrospectives that compare quota against Amount Without Manager Adjustment understate what leadership ultimately committed in Amount.
