Chatter Bookmarks need no admin configuration; they ship enabled. The work is training users to use them intentionally and pairing with the other Chatter organisation tools.
- Bookmark posts you want to find later
Click the Bookmark icon on any Feed Item. The post moves to your Bookmarked feed; no one else sees the action.
- Access bookmarked posts
Chatter tab, left navigation, Bookmarked. The view filters to your bookmarked posts in reverse chronological order.
- Remove bookmarks you no longer need
Click the Bookmark icon again to remove. Periodic cleanup keeps the Bookmarked feed useful.
- Combine with Topic following
Follow Topics for ongoing streams; bookmark specific posts for one-off reference. Using both together is the standard heavy-user pattern.
- Use Notifications for time-sensitive items
For posts that need response, mention the user (@) rather than relying on the user to bookmark and revisit. Bookmarks are pull; Notifications are push.
- Bookmarks are personal. No one else sees what a user has bookmarked; the action is not a recommendation or share.
- Bookmarks accumulate without curation. Periodic cleanup keeps the Bookmarked feed useful.
- Bookmarks are pull, not push. Time-sensitive items belong on @mentions or Notifications, not on Bookmarks.
- Bookmark counts can signal high-value posts but also confused users; do not infer too much from a single Feed Item's bookmark count.
