FLS
Field-Level Security
A security setting that controls whether a user can see, edit, or delete the value of a specific field on an object. FLS is configured through profiles and permission sets.
Example use case
An admin uses FLS to hide the Social Security Number field from all users except those with the Compliance Manager permission set.
